Culture and Creativity

Culture and creativity are the main drivers of advanced economies. And cultural and creative professions reward the commitment of young men and women. In the cultural and creative sectors, which include over 400,000 enterprises, professionals aged 25-34 represent 24.2% of the workforce, 3.4 percentage points more than in all other economic sectors.

Can we drive this opportunity further by investing in school education? Is media art a professional opportunity for the young? How can we use technology to create new entrepreneurial ideas to promote culture, improve its enjoyment and transform passive consumers into active subjects?

Hackreativity is a creativity marathon dedicated to under-35s. It has been organised in collaboration with Lazio Innova, as part of the Lazio Creativo Programme, to develop entrepreneurial ideas on media and light art with technological tools (apps, web sites, games) for a wide range of different audiences.

One hundred and forty students will design and develop digital tools to promote and "accelerate" the success stories of Lazio creativo, a narrative and photographic report on creativity in Lazio that annually showcases the 100 most innovative young talents.

Objectives

  • Use technology to accelerate cultural innovation processes
  • Promote connections via digital tools and collaborative forms of production
  • Attract new audiences with exciting experiences
  • Attract students to cultural and creative sector
  • Promote digital innovation in cultural and creative industries
  • Develop new prototypes (products and processes) and business models
  • Promote the Lazio Creative Industry
  • Experiment with virtuous contaminations and hybrid alliances
