Tecnopia Award

Amongst the organisers of the Tecnopia Award, there are two friends that we have known for a long time - Jacopo Mele, a Digital Life Coach, and Artist Salvatore Iaconesi – and with whom we have shared important milestones: from the opening of the Phyrtual Innovation Gym to the Maker Faire 2014 and collective labs for schools at the Media Art Festival.

Today, we share, with you, their new initiative: the Tecnopia Award. This is a national award open to all European citizens agd 6-18 [see regulations]. The Fondazione Mondo Digitale is a sponsor of the initiative.

The Tecnopia Award addresses the relation between life and technology. Participants must provide a video contribution addressing the challenge, formulated as a question, by an authoritative Italian personality.

"How is it possible, in a world travelling at the speed of the digital age, to conceive ideas and solutions that will have a positive impact on the distant future?" This is the question posed by Salvatore Iaconesi, a hacker, designer, engineer and artist.

The videos will be judged on vision, feasibility, and clarity by a jury of young pioneers in the digital world and top managers at the Prioritalia.

The winners will receive a trip to Rome to participate in a tour of 12 meetings with important figures in the world of enterprise, digital sector and government, including Alfonso Molina, Scientific Director of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and Personal Chair in Technology Strategy.
