5G4School Winners

Yesterday, IIS G. Feltrinelli in Milan hosted the first challenge for Project 5G4School, promoted with the Fondazione Lars Magnus Ericsson to select the student teams that will gain access the inclusive youth accelerator  [see news: Critical Competences]. The second challenge will be held next Thursday at IIS Croce-Aleramo in Rome.

 

The hackathon featured 76 students, grouped into 15 teams, studying solutions to four issues: Tourism and Culture, Security, Robotics and Mobility [see news: Hackathon for 5G4School].

 

 

Here are the four winning teams and a short description of their project idea, selected by the jury.

 

Team CheapTech | Project SafeZone

It is always better to waste a minute than to get lost for a minute. In a panorama of smart and interconnected streets and vehicles, intelligent speed bumps will rise, or dip, based on the speed of the arriving vehicles thanks to the data flow speed allowed by 5G.

 

Team 11231Corp | Project SmartStreet

An interconnected road network in which traffic lights operate based on vehicular traffic, the presence of ambulances or to individuals who signal their presence with a smartphone and the 5G network.

 

Team Domus | Project SmartDoord

The SmartDoor is the evolution of common doors but integrates a wireless notice board, biometric and motion sensors, a video camera operating 24h/7 and an integrated microphone.

 

Team Nameless | Project SmartWaste 2.0

A waste management system that interconnects smart dumpsters with a subterranean network and underground self-driving vehicles.
