This week, the School of Internet for Everyone, the project promoted by TIM as part of the national Operation Digital Risorgimento Programme, will host 15 courses involving nearly 400 citizens, with a majority of women (ca. 60%).

The virtual classrooms will welcome participants of all ages, but with a majority of over-65s (47.34%), followed by 55–64-year-olds (22.97%) and 45-54-year-olds (17.37%). Only a small percentage of young men and women are enrolled.

Over 54% of participants hold a diploma, while 28% have a degree. 17% only have a middle school certificate.

As you may tell from the age groups, 45% of the participants are retired, while 18.49% are public and private employees. Only 9% are independent workers or entrepreneurs, and more than 10% are actively searching for employment.

This week, the summer school for high school students will be attended by students from IIS Vittorio Emanuele II in Genoa and the Liceo Finocchiaro Aprile in Palermo [see news: TIM Summer Camp].

Public and private organisations that wish to enrol their employees in courses should write to ord@mondodigitale.org or contact their regional coordinators.

The project is promoted by TIM in collaboration with the Fondazione Mondo Digitale as part of programme Operation Digital Risorgimento.
