From Como to Rome via Skype

IMG_7905.JPG

Yesterday, at the Liceo Scientifico Statale “G. Peano” in Roma, the elders attending the last lessons of the Telemouse course communicated via videoconference with their “colleagues” at the G.B. Grassiin Middle School in Uggiate Trevano, in the Province of Como.

The lesson focused on the use of messaging and videoconferencing systems. In order to immediately test the new notions, the Roman grandparents held a videoconference session with their counterparts in Como, exchanging opinions on the course and how much they had learnt.

Ms. Matilde, who attends the course at the Liceo Peano, confesses to having learnt a great deal. Now, she can download photos from her digital camera to the PC and modify them by using simple photo programmes. She has also learnt how to navigate the web.

Mr. Alberto, 75, has made an important improvement to his life. He now comfortably accesses public administration services from home, in his slippers. “I no longer need to waste time in queues: time is money and the computer helps me save!” he affirms proudly as his hands grasp his e-Government manual.
