Robots are Changing School

noname1.jpg

“New generations have digital technology in their DNA … they are far more advanced than we think.” Robotics allows students to experience science hands on and overcome the obstacle posed by the lack of practical applications. “The use of robotics allows students to acquire skills and hands-on knowledge. Schools must move beyond blackboard didactics.”

In a brief phone interview, Prof. Marvaso from the Ipsia Galilei School in Turin, explains the reasons for signing the Memorandum of Understanding to promote technological research and culture starting with educational and service robotics. The network agreement, which included more than thirty organisations operating in the robotics and artificial intelligence sector, will be signed at the Rome City Hall on March 16th during the Awards Ceremony for RomeCup 2011.

On March 14-15, the “Robotics in School” Network will be present with four didactic laboratories organized in collaboration with the Piedmont School Department , Festo Italia and Comau(SIM 3D-Lite):

  • Learning through Robots (primary school)
  • Build your Robot (secondary school, first degree)
  • Little Robot (secondary school, second degree)
  • SIM 3D-Lite (third year, secondary school, second degree)
