The Fish is an Automat
Francesca Tarissi

Rome likes robot fish. It had hosted an aquarium in the Campidoglio for the RomeCup 2011 and has now welcomed the fish robots back for Mediterraneum, the new Aquarium of Rome that is under construction in the EUR area.  The bio-mechatronic fish population will be installed by the engineers of the Biomedical and Bio-microsystems laboratory of the Università Campus Biomedico. Currently, the team is optimising a series of prototypes, including eels, bass, jellyfish and a deep-sea fish. The robot fish are hard to distinguish from the real ones. They fish have a five-hour autonomy and an artificial vessel to modify their depth in the tank. (francesca.tarissi@tiscali.it)
