FMD & ANLA Tuscany

The objective of the agreement is to overcome the digital divide and bring different generations closer together to fully exploit the role of elders in society, also via access to new technology.

The Fondazione Mondo Digitale has been working for many years to promote the development of an inclusive knowledge society, while ANLA (Associazione Nazionale Seniores d’Azienda) defends the interests of elders.

Beginning in Florence, the Tuscany Region will use this protocol to initiate Grandparents on the Internet digital literacy projects for the elder ANLA students who will be tutored by students.

The pilot courses will kick off in the autumn. Vincenzo D’Angelo, Regional President of ANLA Tuscany and ANLA National Deputy Head is enthusiastic about this agreement with the Fondazione Mondo Digitale: "even in view of the European Year for Active Ageing, this is a fundamental initiative that will allow our not so green members to come into contact with the Internet and the intergenerational learning model.  It’s a natural extension of the values represented by our association.”
