Reforms and Participation

"The Constitution is a living document. I recently told some high school students that it’s like an old clock that has been bequeathed to us by long-gone relatives. Every now and then it needs a bit of work to keep ticking, but it continues to work fantastically, even after all these years…”

This is the opening sentence of the Final Report on the Public Consultation on Constitutional Reform promoted by the Ministry for Constitutional Reform and Minister Gaetano Quagliarello.

The full report is available on-line.

The on-line consultation ended on October 8, 2014. It attracted more participants than any other consultation of its kind in Europe and lead the creation of a series of transversal alliances in civil society. As a project partner, the Fondazione Mondo Digitale promoted and explained how to compile the document in schools and to over-sixties via the Grandparents on the Internet digital literacy programme and the work the FMD conducts in schools throughout Italy.
