Digital for the 3@age

One of the objectives of the Regione Umbria delineated in the Digital Agenda for Umbria is to create an economic-social partnership that will allow elders to acquire knowledge and competences that will make them independent in the use or new ICT technology with benefits for active ageing, too. The Digital for the 3@age  - Engagement of Young Elders Programme begins with Project Interconnections, a week dedicated to over-65s that will be held Nov. 27- Dec. 1.

Besides mapping elder needs in terms of knowledge and competences, the project aims to gather proposals on digital tools that can be transferred.

The activities, which will be held throughout the Region by intergenerational teams, is organised by the Regione Umbria and the Umbrian School Public Administration in collaboration with the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.

The call is open to for interested parties – creatives and schools – who play a primary role in the digital inclusion of elders.

Start-uppers, makers, programmers, designers, innovators, social entrepreneurs and local talents, as well as directors, teachers and students in the schools of Umbria are called to volunteer and participate with their ideas, experiences and work competences.

To participate, creatives must be interested in issues concerning digital tools for the elderly and have experience in a given creative sector, the propensity to collaborate, and good communication and interpersonal skills, as well as be acquainted with the local area. To participate in Project Interconnections, please send a brief CV (max. 500 characters) with a photo to candidatura@mondodigitale.org by Oct. 25, 2017. Please specify “CALL FOR CREATIVE PEOPLE IN UMBRIA” in the subject line.

Schools will be asked to provide meeting points (labs, classrooms), organise teams of tutors for digital literacy who will be briefed by Fondazione Mondo Digitale staff, participation in activities (hackathon, hackcreativity, jam session), and managing digital help desks.

Interested schools should complete the on-line application by Oct. 25, 2017: https://goo.gl/forms/LaBtXsMniiEAb0DL2
