This Week’s Appointments

This week’s protagonists are still the Coding Girls and their 14-stop educational tour of Italy [see news: Coding is Freedom]. After the school training sessions, the educational marathon will be in Pisa on Monday for the sixth leg of the tour [see news: Coding Girls in Pisa]. The tour will be in Catania (Tuesday 12), Cagliari (Wednesday 13), Salerno (Thursday 14) and Naples and Bari (Saturday 16) [see poster for other dates]. Intensive coding sessions are also underway in many schools and at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym.

 

Events include the first edition of the C1A0 EXPO – Accessible Innovation, the international fair on artificial intelligence (Genoa, November 15-16, 2019 at Palazzo San Giorgio). The event includes an exhibition, labs, workshops, panels and meetings. FMD will participate on Saturday, November 16 with a workshop dedicated to secondary school students on the potential and opportunities of artificial intelligence. Coach Andrea Morachioli will present the Ambizione Italia for Schools Programme developed with Microsoft.

 

 

The following projects will also hold activities next week:

  • ABC Atelier
    The Regione Lazio “Free Course for Cultural Marketing Technicians” promoted by the Consorzio Ro.Ma. and Gema Business School, will train a new generation of specialists in cultural marketing. On Tuesday afternoon, participants will meet at the Fab Lab with Irene Caretti.
  • Ambizione Italia for Schools
    Labs on artificial intelligence at the Milan Microsoft House. Monday 11: students from the Milan “Convitto Longone” with Coach Samuele Sciacca. Tuesday 12 and Friday 15: Manuel Serra will hold a course for students from IC Pellico in Appiano Gentile (Como). Interactive labs will also be held at the IIS Majorana School Hub in Brindisi: Wednesday and Friday from 9 am to 1 pm with Nicola Liuzzi.
  • Class Collection
    Two Fab Lab Meetings on Tuesday and Thursday for students from the Piaget-Diaz School with Coach Matteo Viscogliosi [see news: Class Collection].
  • Give Campaign
    On Tuesday morning, the Robotics Lab at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym will host activities with the Lego WeDo Kit. The activities will be organised by Federica Pellegrini with Claudio Greco (Microsoft Employee Volunteer Campaign) for students from the Istituto comprensivo Damiano Chiesa.
  • OpenSpace
    Activities at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym in Bari. IC Grimaldi Lombardi will host a Coding Lab: the second Scratch Programming for three primary school classes [vedi programma]
  • PCTO (former school-work programme)
    On Tuesday, students at the Rome IIS Democrito will attend a course with Coach Daniele Vigo.
  • She Means Business
    On Monday, a course for women in enterprise in Naples [see news: Social Ecosystem].
  • Vagone FMD
    Monday 11: second appointment with Welcome to the Web – Top Tips for Using the Internet Lab for migrants and students [see agenda]. Wednesday 13: second appointment with the Turn the Camera course for students [see agenda] and third meeting of the “Quello che non si racconta non esiste” Lab for third sector operators [see agenda]. Friday 15: Facebook e Instagram in Safety for students [see agenda].
  • Viral but Healthy
    On Monday, the Phyrtual Innovation Gym will host a white hackathon [see news: A Health Challenge]
  • Living Digital
    Eleven educational sessions on different subjects in Reggio Calabria, Palermo, Milan, Turin, Naples and Taranto.
    Monday 11: (2-6 pm): IIS Vinci di Reggio Calabria with Coach Giulia Melissari, IIS Finocchiaro Aprile Palermo with Coach Daniela Frenna
    Tuesday 12 (2.30-6.00 pm): IIS Caterina da Siena in Milan with Coach Roberta Moretti
    Wednesday 13 (9-13): Milan Liceo Einstein with Coach Roberta Moretti, LC Campanella in Reggio Calabria with Coach Giulia Melissari
    Thursday  14 (9 am – 1 pm): IIS Curie Vittorini in Turin with Coach Marta, LSS Caccioppoli in Naples with Coach Aldo Oropallo, IIS Vinci in Reggio Calabria with Coach Giulia Melissari (afternoon), IIS Pacinotti in Taranto with Coach Gaetano Manzulli (afternoon)
    Friday 15 (9 am – 1 pm): Bosso Monti in Turin with Coach Giulia Melissari, LSS Caccioppoli in Naples with Coach Aldo Oropallo

 

As usual, over the weekend, the digital manufacturing lab (Fab Lab) at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym is open to the maker community: Saturday-Sunday from 3:30 to 8:30 pm.
