The students, who attend Class 5D at the Liceo C. Cavalleri in Parabiago, in the province of Milan, analysed their local environment and came to the conclusion that one of the main needs was greater cohesion, socializing and participation. The problem, however, is the lack of a common area to do so. Thus, they decided to design and develop a meeting place where citizens can experiment with, learn to love and take care of beauty.
The various activities implemented by Project Meet No Neet, part of the global Microsoft YouthSpark Programme, allowed the students to learn how to design and implement a social innovation project. In fact, they placed second in the Meet No Neet Competition with “An Oasis of Peace and Beauty.”
Following the awards ceremony, they immediately got to work and on June 14 they inaugurated the Oasis and its first two areas: the sould path and the Garden of Perfumes. Moreover, they are already at work with a crowdfunding campaign on Phyrtual to raise the money necessary to develop a third area called agility dog.
