GEM Against Stereotypes

Project GEM - Gender Equality Matters, funded by the European Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme, contributes to educational programme Coding Girls to help identify the effects of gender stereotypes and buttress the community against discrimination, bullying, and gender violence, promoting inclusive behaviour that values differences.

The course includes seven modules, each of which is based on three webinars dedicated to educators, teachers and students at the schools participating in Project Coding Girls.

On Tuesday, we shared the class calendar [see news: GEM or Coding Girls]. Today, we present the appointments for teachers. You can also participate in individual meetings.

Coach: Claudia Piccini

Claudia was born in Rome in 1968, a historical date that marks the great cultural change in relations between sexes. She is a daughter of the contradiction of old feminine models and new prospects for change. Indeed, she often wonders and asks those whom she meets how freely women have expressed themselves notwithstanding the changes. As a young woman on a professional sports career, she was allowed to step beyond the boundaries of her culture, learn about other cultures and experiment with an unusual freedom. She graduated in cultural anthropology and for over 20 years has been working in the non-profit sector on labour, education, training and migration policy. She is president of an Onlus Association and a partner of various associations and social enterprises to promote the wellbeing of individuals, especially women, in life and at work.
