Civic Challenge in Rovigo

Civic Challenge in Rovigo

“How to promote the quality and experience of urban shopping in downtown Rovigo via new technology.” The City of Rovigo launched the second Civic Challenge, after the one held in Rome [see news: Made in Rome].

The work session was held on October 25 at the  Urban Digital Centre in Rovigo with representatives from trade associations and shops, public offices, craftsmen, tourism and restaurants [see news: The Urban Experience].

Here is a summary of the results reached by the worktables.

NETWORK
It is fundamental to promote joint and systemic action by enterprises, trade associations and local institutions, regularly organizing tables to understand entrepreneurial needs and identify priorities and shared solutions in terms of digitalisation.

TRAINING
It is important to raise the awareness of entrepreneurs and train them on the opportunities provided by digital tools to develop their businesses through free courses. Above all, enterprises must understand the importance of investing in digital innovation, even with the help of experts.

AWARENESS
Enterprises must learn about the virtuous experiences of other companies that have adopted digital solutions to promote their activities. This will lead to sharing, profitable contamination and even opportunities for collaboration.

INCLUSION
It is necessary to develop efficient communication and marketing activities to guarantee accessibility to products and city services even for individuals with disabilities. Moreover, entrepreneurs must be educated to a culture of inclusion.

PROMOTION
Websites to promote on-line sales and the local community can build on the image of the city and its products and services.

The Civic Challenge is promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and Facebook Italia and  developed for Binario F as part of Programme Vagone FMD. Da 01 a 100. The Challenge involves six Italian municipalities with public and private agencies, third sector organisations and citizens on local co-design challenges to drive the post-pandemic recovery of the social and productive systems. The challenges launched by the local administrations provide an answer to local community holders through co-design sessions that aim to identify priorities, innovative ideas and drive civic participation.
