Areas of intervention

Young entrepreneurship and social innovation

For quite some time now we have been developing an ambitious program for education for life, young entrepreneurs, innovation, and new artisan professions through various activities that involve prestigious partners, such as the Prime Minister’s Office, the Chamber of Commerce, Inail, Google, Microsoft, and the CAN, etc. Starting out with just a restricted network of schools in Rome, we are now capable of supporting a strategic program of European dimensions for investments in the young generations, from education for life to the “creation” of new jobs in order to face the challenges posed by Europe 2020 with greater efficiency.

Why we do it
Europe 2020: Italy’s critical points
  • One of the highest school dropout rates: 18.2% (EU average: 13.5%)
  • NEET number of over 2 million on the rise (22.7% of the population aged 15 to 29)
  • Europe’s lowest percentage of young university graduates (20.3%)
  • Among Europe’s lowest employment rates (61.2% between 24 to 64 years of age)
  • Europe’s highest young people unemployment rate (15-24 years) over the last 10 years (29.1%)
  • The highest gender gap: 5% more women than men are unemployed (32%)
  • More than half of those unemployed have been looking for work for at least one year
  • Decreasing productivity
  • Only 1.26% of its GDP is invested in Research and Development
  • Only 5.7% of all adults (25-64 years) participates in training activity
  • Real-term pro capita GDP lower than in 2000
