Language, culture and computer as key skills to open integration’s doors. An integrated training path based on the innovative use of new technologies

LC2 – Language, Culture, and Computer: fundamental skills that open the door to integration is a project co-funded by the European Union (European fund for the integration of Extra-European citizens – Action 1/ 2007).

The City of Anzio currently occupies 6th place in the ranking of municipalities in the province of Rome with the highest number of foreign residents (over 4,000), composed of Romanians (16.1%), Bulgarians (11.8%), and Indians (10.8%). For this reason, the immigrants who live in the Lavinio and Anzio area are among the prime beneficiaries of an integrated training path based on the active and innovative use of new technologies.
The objective of the LC2 Project co-funded by the European Union (European fund for the integration of Extra-European citizens) is the acquisition and mastery of the skills required for active citizenship in the host nation. The project envisions 9 different training paths with the support of a didactic kit, an online learning platform, and linguistic and cultural mediation. The courses are held in the computerized classroom set up for the purpose at the Provincial Police Headquarters in Lavinio.

Together with the Eriches 29 social cooperative consortium, Fondazione Mondo Digitale took part in the call for tenders issued by the Ministry of the Interior (Department for Civil Liberties and Immigration – Central Directorate for Immigration and Political Asylum) for the implementation of projects at local level regarding actions envisioned by the European Fund for the integration of Extra-European citizens 2007-2013.
The project is being implemented with the collaboration of KStudio Associato (KPMG network), Il Percorso Cooperative, consultants from Centro Linguistico Hughes and the participation of the City of Anzio.
