A delegation of thirteen Roman students and teachers participated in the video event held on February 6 at the stand of the European Space Agency. The delegation was composed of students from: liceo classico I. Kant, liceo scientifico Russell, I.C. statale di Ladispoli, 157° CD Torrimpietra and the liceo scientifico F. D’Assisi, one of the new schools involved in the Digital Bridge, a technological bridge with Cameroon Project.

Students from OWS College Fontem NVEH, the Fontem–Menji LATS Office, Professor Giovanni Allegri from Prato, Engineer Cesare Borin of the Act Now Alliance from Rome participated in the videoconference together with representatives of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and ESA that hosted the event during the third day of SAT Expo Europe 2010.

Following Prof. Allegri’s last lesson of a course that has trained 25 students from Fontem aged 17-19 to map their territory and orient themselves through the forests by using GPS, the “baton” was handed to the students.

“We are organizing a new Youth Party … just a year ago we were marching together with you,” recalls Vincent, one of the managers of the LATS Office in Fontem. “I would like to thank all those of you who have helped my kids to study,” declared the Headmaster of OWS College, “even if we are far apart, we are closer than ever before.”

The students set a new appointment for the end of February: a videoconference from the Liceo Kant for a lesson on the Italian Constitution.
