Carmen Pirci
My name is Carmen Pirci, I am twenty years old and I come from Molise. I attended the ITIS Boccardi-Tiberio school, specialising in Business Information Systems (SIA), and I am now studying for a degree in Computer Science at the University of Molise. My strengths and weaknesses? I am too precise, which is both a strength and a weakness. I realised that IT was the right path for me when I was given the task of creating a website for homework. I finished it in two days, working from morning until evening without even noticing how much I enjoyed it. I still remember my IT teacher saying to me, ‘You should do this, you can see you're passionate about it’. One day, I would love to work in this field, including in the area of application development, which also fascinates me. After all, my motto is ‘do what you love and love what you do’. Studying computer science has opened up a whole new world for me, one that is both engaging and dynamic. I am glad I embarked on this path and I believe that with a lot of patience and self-confidence, although difficult to acquire, we can achieve anything! I have always been convinced that I have never seen the world of IT as a ‘world for men only’. In fact, today I would say that we women must fight against this stereotype, perhaps imposed by society, and assert ourselves and take revenge in this field.
