Davide Riva

Born in Bergamo in 1996, Davide Riva is currently a PhD student on the National PhD Programme in Artificial Intelligence (due to be completed in October 2026), run in partnership between the Polytechnic University of Turin and the University of Milan, working on a project entitled “Foundations of Intelligent Systems”. He first entered the world of AI whilst studying for his Master’s degree in Data Science and Economics at the University of Milan, where he wrote his thesis on mental health prevention using linguistic models. During his PhD programme, which was partly carried out in Japan, he studied techniques to increase the resilience of modern AI models against hallucinations and biases by introducing corrective interactions between inductive and deductive mechanisms, whilst maintaining a keen interest in applications in critical fields such as mental health, as well as education, journalism and social design.
