Martina Urizio
My name is Martina Urizio, and I am a student in the Master's Degree programme in Multimedia Communication and Information Technology - Multimedia Systems and Interaction Design at the University of Udine. I have a degree in Computer Science, I am a musician, and I have always been passionate about everything related to logic. This year, for the first time, I have the opportunity to get involved in the ‘ Coding Girls’ project, which fascinates me greatly, as I have been working in the field of teaching and dissemination for almost ten years. I have had the opportunity to guide and advise many young people in choosing their educational path in the field of technology and have helped many students to deepen their knowledge and study the main subjects related to computer science, also presenting several conferences. I have also had the opportunity to publish an article for DIDAMATICA (informatica per la Didattica-AICA, Associazione Italiana per l'Informatica e il Calcolo Automatico). Furthermore, I have a strong desire to contribute to gender equality in the technology sector: having been a victim of sexism myself because of my career choice, I would like to ensure that girls and women are not afraid to approach this world, which may seem complex and ‘obscure’ to them. It is important to make them, and young people in general, aware of the potential and fascinating things that can be achieved through computer science and computational thinking.
