The new daily Domani, which has been in newsstands since September, reports on Project Centre at Home, developed for the Trigoria Daily Care Centre by the Fondazione Alberto SordiFondazione Mondo Digitale and the Rome Campus Bio-Medico University. During the lockdown, meetings of the Trigoria Daily Care Centre for fragile elders were conducted in virtual rooms on smartphones, tablets and PCs.

 

Journalist Sara Dellabella also interviewed Cecilia Stajano [@CStajano], School Innovation and Community Manager who coordinated the project for the Fondazione Mondo Digitale. “We developed a custom-tailored service for each individual user, based on their difficulties … If education used to be based on PCs, it is now the realm of smartphones, too, and grandparents can learn to use chats to talk to their grandchildren, see photos, and even keep arguing with their friends at the centre! … It was a race against time and isolation, we couldn’t afford to lose anyone.”
