AI Jump! Three-day “Accelerate your Career” workshop in Rome

Three days to understand how generative artificial intelligence can become a practical ally in the job search: not a shortcut, but a tool to better recognise one’s own skills, present them effectively and navigate the various stages of an application with greater awareness.

The “Accelerate your Career” workshop took place in Rome from 18 to 20 May, promoted as part of AI Jump!, the three-year programme led by Fondazione Simplon in collaboration with Accenture Foundation and Fondazione Mondo Digitale, created to strengthen the employability and digital inclusion of people distant from the world of work through the use of generative artificial intelligence. The programme, active in France, Italy and Spain, offers immersive workshops, mentoring and certified training to support young people, adults undergoing retraining, people with disabilities and professionals in the voluntary sector towards new career opportunities.

Led by trainer Renato Beraldini, participants worked on practical and immediately applicable tools: from CV writing to tailoring applications, from interview preparation to building an individual action plan.

The first day was dedicated to an introduction to generative AI, highlighting personal skills and creating more effective CVs with the support of artificial intelligence. During the second session, the group explored in depth how to tailor applications, the functioning of ATS systems used for automated candidate screening, writing cover letters, and tools for monitoring job vacancies. The final day focused on interview preparation, featuring guided simulations, exercises on professional pitching, and the development of a concrete plan to guide the next steps.

Through exercises, group work and personalised feedback, the workshop demonstrated how AI can support active job-seeking when used methodically: to clarify objectives, improve professional communication, tailor one’s profile to opportunities and better prepare for interactions with recruiters and companies.

Feedback from participants

Massimo dreams of a future in international organisations and European institutions. For him, AI Jump! was an opportunity to understand how to use AI to tackle complex and highly technical job applications. Naval, who initially viewed artificial intelligence with some scepticism, discovered during the workshop just how useful and practical it can be in the job search. Giulio, who wants to return to the IT sector, his true passion, chose these sessions to fill in some gaps and get back into the game.

“Thanks to your help, I had the fantastic opportunity to take part in one of your workshops, and I am truly grateful,” writes Fahim. “Understanding how artificial intelligence is used in the modern world to organise, communicate and in every aspect of life, thereby contributing to the success of my career, has been crucial. This three-day workshop allowed me to delve deeper into the subject and brush up on my knowledge of the various uses of technology in everyday life, showing me how these can improve my daily routine.” For F. A., the experience also served as a useful step towards looking at his career path with greater confidence: “Thank you for giving me the opportunity to take part and make an important decision for my career, allowing me to be better prepared and to better understand the modern tools I can use to give a boost to my career path.”

These different stories capture the spirit of the project well: bridging the digital divide, providing real tools and restoring confidence.

Because AI, when explained and used well, can become a valuable ally in getting to know oneself better, enhancing one’s career path and imagining new professional avenues. AI Jump! thus continues to build inclusive and welcoming spaces, where technology does not replace people, but supports them. And where every participant can find a starting point to rethink their future with greater awareness and possibilities
