Attractive School

The National Park of the Vesuvius hosts the ten thousand residents of the Municipality of Boscotrecase. One of the schools, the Istituto comprensivo Boscotrecase 1 S.M. Prisco, suffers the typical problems of all towns in this area: high demographic density, lack of services, lack of green areas for free time …

Thus, the school, managed by Headmaster Carmela Sorrentino feels all the pressure of propelling development in the area and opening up to new, exciting experiences such as Coding Girls. In fact, the school curricula posits “If you want to build a ship, don’t find men, don’t look for the material, don’t assign tasks. If you want to build a ship, teach men to love the vast and infinite sea” (Antoine de Saint-Exupery).

The Coding Girls event includes a very young team from the first-degree secondary school coordinated by Maria Sorrentino. And the experience was immediately promoted on the home page of the school’s website to share it with the entire school community.

Cecilia Stajano (FMD School Innovation Manager) interviewed Headmaster Carmela Sorrentino.
