Champions, Once Again

The World Robotics Championships, which were held entirely virtually this year, just ended. Eight Italian teams participated in RoboCup Junior (June 22-28).

 

Team SPQR from the Rome Galileo Galilei School once again clinched the world championship, placing 1st as "Individual Team" in the Soccer Lightweight Technical Challenge Category. The team is composed of Siria Sannino, Emanuele Coletta and Davide Belli [see news: The Game of the Future].

 

Team AngloVeneti from the Giacomo Chilesotti School in Thiene won the Rescue Line Category [see news on the school site (in Italian): Primi ai mondiali]. Team Salbeghi from the Silvio De Pretto School placed first in the Rescue Maze Category [see news (in Italian):  Primi nella RoboCup].

 

Moreover, both teams were awarded a special prize for their technical presentation.

 



Team Aurat from the Facchinetti School in Castellanza also returned to the podium, after five years, for the best technical presentation in the OnStage Technical Challenge Category. The team, coordinated by Prof. Loris Pagani, is composed of Simone Provasio, Alessandro Dubini, Alessandro Crespi, Michele Quaranta, Marco Turra, Andrea Spreafico, and Tommaso Toaiari.
