Today, the Phyrtual Innovation Gym will welcome two primary school classes from the Istituto comprensivo Via Santi, managed by Headmaster Anna Fiorani. Lab activities will be organized by Coaches Lara Forgione and Valentina Gelsomini.
The lab will begin with the presentation of Project “BYE: Build Your Experience" and then introduce the young students to storytelling, before dividing them into two groups to learn to use Scratch.
Subsequently, the children will work on writing and coding their story and end the day by trying out virtual reality visors.
The lab has been organized as part of Project “BYE: Build Your Experience” (May 2016 - May 2017), an initiative by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale financed by Google for Education as part of the Google RISE Awards 2016, the annual grant reserved for non-profit organisations that promote STEM disciplines amongst youth with less access to the study of scientific and technical subjects.
In particular, the lab provides young Italian female students (6-16), prevalently from the Regione Lazio, with the experience of experiential storytelling.
