The Fondazione Mondo Digitale has launched the “Digital Made. For Young Fashion Talents” Contest to find new young talent in the field of wearables. Selected young men and women will have the opportunity, at the Rome Digital Fashion Night (January 26, 2019), to showcase their works to a jury of national and international experts against the beautiful backdrop of Trajan’s Market.
The registration deadline has been extended to December 9, 2018.
PARTICIPATION REQUISITES
- Use of innovative technology for the digital production of clothing and accessories;
- Use of design and programming software for interactive items of clothing;
- Search for new bio or intelligent wearable materials;
- Production of a working prototype of the item of clothing or accessory.
REGISTRATION
The call is open to everyone, individuals and groups. Registration is free.
Interested candidates should submit their application by December 9, 2018 by completing the form available at www.innovationgym.org/contest-digital-made.
To complete the registration process, participants must send, by December 18, 2018, an abstract of their project (both in Italian and English), a photo (300 dpi) of the developed prototype and a video presentation of the project idea (not mandatory) to candidature@mondodigitale.org, indicating “Iscrizione Contest Digital Made” in the subject line. The projects will be evaluated and selected by a jury composed of designers and makers at the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and fashion and technology experts from partner companies and sponsors.
All selected prototypes must be received by January 18, 2019 (either delivered in person or by mail) to the Fondazione Mondo Digitale (Via del Quadraro 102, 00174 Rome).
EXHIBITION AND AWARDS CEREMONY
On January 26, 2019, the selected projects will participate in the Community Luxury 4.0 fashion show against the beautiful backdrop of Trajan’s Market as part of Altaroma’s Digital Fashion Night, where they will be viewed by technology and fashion experts as well as the press and public.
A committee of experts will present a €2000 Award to the winning project. The intellectual and material property of the projects will remain that of developers.
