CONTEST DIGITAL MADE FOR YOUNG FASHION TALENTS

2nd Edition

 

The Fondazione Mondo Digitale launches the second edition of the “Digital Made. For Young Fashion Talents” Contest to promote young talent in the field of wearables technology. Young designers, stylists, makers, etc. will have the opportunity to see their works on the catwalk at Altaroma at the “Fashion Digital Night” in January 2020.

 

NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL VISIBILITY

The contest will be promoted internationally by the Italian Consulate General in Barcelona as part of ITmakES, with the Reshape Platform, in international events dedicated to fashion, sustainability and new technology in the Spanish city.

 

The initiative will also be promoted internationally through a series of events:

  • June 20, 2019 – Matera – Wearable technology event in collaboration with Komen Italia Onlus
  • July 4, 2019 – Rome – Altaroma – Wearable technology event in collaboration with Altaroma
  • October 20, 2019 – Rome – Maker Faire – Wearable technology event in the largest European event on innovation.

 

PARTICIPATION REQUISITES

  • Use of innovative technology for the digital production of clothes or accessories;
  • Use of design and programming software to produce innovative clothes and intelligent hairstyles;
  • Research on new wearable bio or intelligent materials;
  • Development of a functioning prototype of the clothing or accessory idea.

 

REGISTRATION

The call is open to everyone: individuals and groups. International collaborations will be particularly appreciated. Registration is free.

 

Interested parties should submit their candidature by November 20, 2019 by completing the on-line application (www.innovationgym.org/contest-digital-made2)  and submitting an abstract of the project in Italian and English, as well as a photo (300 dpi), of the developed prototype and a video presentation of the project idea (optional) to contest@mondodigitale.org with subject line: “Iscrizione Contest Digital Made”.

 

All selected prototypes must be received by December 20, 2019, delivered by hand or mailed, to: Fondazione Mondo Digitale, Via del Quadraro 102, 00174 Roma.

 

EXHIBITION, EVALUATION AND AWARDS

The selected project will participate in the “Fashion Digital Night” cat walk in January 2020 as part of “Altaroma,” where they will be viewed by sector exports, fashion and technology experts, media and the general public.  A committee of experts will present a €2000 award to the winning project, as well as assign special mentions and other recognitions provide by the prestigious partner events.

 

The Altaroma initiative and related projects in January 2020 will be held pending the identification of the financial resources necessary to cover the costs and hold the event.

 

USE OF MATERIALS AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Subjects participating in the contest will authorise organisers to use the images of their project/prototype. In particular, the FMD will have the right to use these materials on their web sites and social network channels, in communication materials and to promote events, as well as to other initiatives related to the award. Moreover, the use of said images is authorised to be used in the promotional material of event sponsors and institutions. The intellectual property and project materials remain the property of their authors.

 

PROTOTYPE DELIVERY AND RETURNS

Participating parties are responsible for delivering and picking up their prototypes, including transportation insurance, as agreed with the FMD.

 

CUSTODY AND INSURANCE

The FMD guarantees that optimal care will be taken of all prototypes, but it will not be held responsible for any damage caused by transport, manumission, fire, theft or other causes occurring during the event period exhibition or deposit. Participants are free to insure their prototypes individually.
