“Count me in! I’m here, too!” Little girls and adolescent women can become more aware, confident, strong-willed and capable of deciding and developing their future.
To make this possible, Visa and the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, with technological support from the R-Store (official Apple retailer), have developed a pilot project for the inclusive growth of young women ranging from coding to financial education.
The initial targets are young women in 20 schools in the metropolitan cities of Rome and Naples, because female empowerment must begin at school.
The schools will be reached by a mobile lab on a van that is equipped to involve the new generations in coding, creativity, sustainability, finance and enterprise through games, tests, simulations, exercises, challenges... The sessions, which will vary in length, are all dynamic, ludic and appealing. Concrete tools will be used to understand, interpret reality and make reasoned choices. The aim is to learn how to count, not only account.
There will also be custom-tailored teacher training activities. Each school will receive a "Coding Box" with iPads, Sphero Robots and didactic material to continue experimenting with technology independently.
The pilot project was presented at the Salone dei pagamenti 2021 last week during the workshop organised by Visa.
