The Mayor of  Aprilia, Antonio Terra, decided to officially celebrate the important award received by Handy Hand, the project developed by the IIS Carlo e Nello Rosselli School in Aprilia.

 

The bionic hand designed by Gabriele Caiazzo was selected as a finalist at the Global Youth Startup Awards 2015, the international contest rewarding the best innovation and social inclusion project developed by students around the world. The Awards are promoted by Hype in collaboration with EMGI and other international partners.

 

Gabriele Caiazzo, a student at IIS Carlo e Nello Rosselli in Aprilia (Latina) lead Italy onto the podium with His "Handy Hand" Project that placed third. The project was originally presented at RomeCup 2015.

 

Yesterday, the Mayor met with Gabriele Caiazzo after his visit to Expo for the Awards Ceremony.  

 

Participants at the meeting in the Aprilia Town Hall included Councillors Vittorio Marchitti and Francesca Barbaliscia, teachers Benedetti e Arbau, the Headmaster of the “Carlo e Nello Rosselli”, School, Viviana Bombonati, and Ana Lain, School Innovation Manager for the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.

 

The Mayor thanked the young technological talent and presented him with a “San Michele” created by a local artist in recognition for his commitment and creativity. And Gabrielle already has a number of other projects ready to go.
