Factor J Against Breton’s Apathy

Blog Alley Oop on the Il Sole 24 Ore reports on the project and Health Manifesto

On the “Alley Oop” blog of the Il Sole 24 Ore daily, Eleonora Cipoletta talks about the Factor J, tracing its various phases, from the first edition focused on empathy to the Health Manifesto, and providing its protagonists with a voice. The chosen key is that of youth discomfort which French anthropologist David Le Breton has defined as the "syndrome of whiteness" or withdrawal. A key passage is the testimony of a student, Benedetta:

This project has taught me many things: to believe in scientific information, to ignore so-called fake news, to be more sensitive towards illnesses, which often cause discomfort within social relationships, to believe in medical research itself, which is making continuous progress… However, the most important thing for me, is that this project has managed give me trust, hope for a better future.

We young people often let ourselves be demoralized by the gloomy idea we have of our future, but this project has managed to make me understand how much science can, with its continuous developments, guarantee a better future and life, and above all in health.
