This may be one of the most original and unusual stories at the Maker Faire, which will be held in Rome on October 14-16.

The showcase area will exhibit a truly special project entitled "3D Pac Robot Man," inspired by the classic eighties videogame, Pacman, the magic dot-eating creature chased by ghosts.

The project has been developed by 3 fathers and their 4 sons with the help of a young, genius uncle, who is also a World Robotics Champion together with his classmates. This unusual maker team is composed by Andrea Belli (father), Davide Belli (son), Filippo Belli (son), Carlo Coletta (father), Emanuele Coletta (son), Ferdinando Miraglia (father), Paolo Miraglia (son), Emanuele Alfano ("adoptive uncle"). Together, the team built a 160 x 160 cm play board with coloured blips powered by an Arduino chipset. The ghosts and Pacman are 9 cm robots that will be remotely controlled by Maker Faire visitors to simulate the classic game. And it was all developed at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym Fab Lab.

Ferdinando, interviewed by Cecilia Stajano, explains the spirit of their project in which “adults become children and children become adults. We called ourselves Pacman by chance.”

And there are more surprises: two of them Emanuele Coletta (14) and Emanuele Alfano (19) are also digital ambassadors for Project Make: Learn: Share: Europe.

So, if you are at the Maker Faire (Rome, Octo. 14-16), stop by and visit this great project at Pavillion N. 9 Stand C19.
