There are those who are back at school seventy years later and those who are tired of queuing up, those who want to use on-line services and housewives who want to learn how to archive their grandmother’s special baking recipes as well as grandfathers who want to communicate in real time with far away sons and nephews, exchanging photos and videos …

The first class of the Grandparents on the Internet pilot course, designed and implemented by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, makes no distinction between levels of education and experience. The young students of the Istituto Volta (11- 14 years old) have accepted the challenge of becoming tutors and working together with a coordinating teacher. Thirty hours of weekly appointments will instruct the over-sixty years old students not only on the abc of PCs, but also how to navigate the web, communicate via e-mail and use the digital services of public administrations.
