Starting today, Monday, Sept. 11, over 8.6 million students will return to school – both public and private – based on the regional calendars.
This school year will see 7,757,849 students in public schools for a total of 370,697 classes: 948,900 in kindergarten, 2,538,095 in primary school, 1,637,535 in first degree secondary school, and 2,633,319 in second degree secondary school.
There are 234,658 students with disabilities: 19,571 in kindergarten, 83,232 in primary school, 65,905 in first degree secondary school, and 65,950 in second degree secondary school).
In second degree secondary school, 47.5% of students are following a pre-high school programme, 31.7% a technical programme and 20.8% a professional programme.
Over 800,000 teachers, including permanent and supply staff, are ready to educate the young students.
