Roma Smart City Awards 2025: today at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni
Today, Friday 14 November, the Palazzo delle Esposizioni hosts the second edition of the Roma Smart City Awards, an initiative dedicated to recognising projects and visions that are transforming cities into more sustainable, participatory and digital environments. The event is promoted by Smart People FLM Communications, with the patronage of the Municipality of Rome and the collaboration of the Digital Transformation Department.
The event comes at a particularly significant moment: Rome was recently awarded at the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona, an international recognition that highlights the quality of the digital policies developed in recent years, from innovative public services to data governance. The Awards are part of this same trajectory, as a space for discussion between institutions, research, businesses and civil society to imagine new solutions for the city of the future.
The programme includes talks, workshops and moments of reflection on key issues of urban innovation, sustainability and digital citizenship. In the afternoon, the Award Ceremony will be held, recognising projects, companies and personalities that have distinguished themselves in 2025 for their social, technological and environmental impact.
Among the partners of the initiative is the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, which contributed to the creation of the awards, in line with its commitment to a culture of inclusive innovation, digital education and active citizen participation. This is recognition of the role of FMD in strengthening educational and community ecosystems capable of accompanying the digital transformation of the city. Journalist Onelia Onorati will participate in the event on behalf of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.
