MareBot: Deadline Extended

NEW DEADLINE: Schools may submit their candidatures until 1:00 pm on March 13, 2020 by completing the online application form [see call: MareBOT Challenge].

For the upcoming  RomeCup 2020, the Marche Polytechnic University, in collaboration with ISME (Inter-university Centre of Integrated Systems for the Marine Environment), Talent and the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, announces a new MareBOT Challenge to promote excellence and activism by Italian schools in the field of ICT design for marine robotics.

The  Department of Information Engineering at the Marche Polytechnic University invites all first and second-degree secondary schools to participate in the initiative.

The MareBOT Challenge is a competition amongst second-degree secondary schools, even groups of students (including PCTO courses), to propose and/or develop robotics projects related to the sea and the marine environment. The projects must include a high degree of technical or technological – even entrepreneurial – knowledge.

The topic of the 2020 edition is ““Saving our oceans from plastic and micro-plastic.”

The MareBOT Challenge includes a single category (second-degree secondary schools) in two phases: an initial design and development phase, followed by the selection of 4 projects, and a second phase with a live demo at RomeCup 2020.

Application deadline: March 13, 2020.
