More Connected Communities

The School of Internet for Everyone, the greatest on-line educational drive for individuals who wish to learn more about digital tools to improve everyday lives, continues to network. Thanks to the precious support of local coordinators, we are strengthening local communities.

Today, Giulia Tumatis will bring us to Quartu S. Elena, in Sardinia, to discover the reasons that drove Councillor Cinzia Carta to support the project: “We are all fully involved in the great drive towards digital transformation to achieve a fully connected society. This is why our administration has chosen to participate in Operation Digital Risorgimento to allow every single citizen to participate in this free educational drive.”

The courses are an opportunity for citizens in Quarto to simply and quickly acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to use the digital tools that are increasingly ubiquitous in our daily lives.

Besides the Quartu Sant'Elena Council, various local agencies and associations have also promoted this week’s courses:

  • Hospice Lombardia
  • Council of Grottaglie
  • Council of Venice
  • CPO, COA and legal associations Vibo Valentia
  • Council of Grottaglie
  • CPO Reggio Calabria + Council of Santo Stefano

The 18 virtual classrooms present a better balance this week in terms of the age of the 400 partecipants, with the same percentage (24%) in the 45-54, 55-64 and over-65 age groups. Women are once again the majority (67%). Most participants have a high school diploma (51.52%), a university degree (32.96%) or a middle school certificate (20.78%).

Public and private employees account for nearly 29% of participants, while 17% are professionals and entrepreneurs. Just over 21% is retired and 14% are in search of employment.

Public and private organisations that wish to enrol their employees in courses should write to ord@mondodigitale.org or contact their regional coordinators.

The project is promoted by TIM in collaboration with the Fondazione Mondo Digitale as part of programme Operation Digital Risorgimento.
