The Fab Lab Open day will be held tomorrow, Saturday, December 12.

Who are the Pop-up Makers?

Simona Nacamulli is the owner, together with Annalisa Battista, of Studio Unoauno, which is specialized in design prototyping, the creation of plastic architectural models, company gadgets and internal decoration.

At PopUp Makers, Simona will tell the story of two women of the first women to open a prototyping studio with 3D printers in 2002. They have worked with some of the most important architecture studios, as well as institutions and universities. Today, Unoauno is a technological reference point for the transformation of an idea into a project.

Rosa Topputo, 39, is a co-founder of Millepiani Co-working and D'Arc.Studio, a studio specialized in architecture and design.

Since 2007, D'Arc.Studio, founded with Alessio Tommasetti, deals with 3D printing and robotics.

At Pop-up Makers, Rosa will present Project My Hand, a new bionic hand designed for the Istituto di BioRobotica at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa. This is a beautiful prosthesis with a sophisticated technological core. Experimentation is already underway.

The Hart Studio Team includes the three interaction design founders - Ievoli, Daniele Martini, Daniele Sauzzi – and Prof Emanuele Tarducci, the project supervisor.

The three young interaction designers graduated from the Istituto Quasar Design University in Rome with theses on the relation between mankind and technological development and, in particular, on issues related to deaf people. They pursued their research by developing Project Heli (Hearing Enhancement for Life Improvement). The idea was selected and financed by the Fondazione Vodafone Italia and incubated by the Milan PoliHub as an innovative start-up in the social sector.  The project was also selected as a finalist at the Global Junior Challenge 2015.

At Pop-Up Makers, the team will present a bracelet that translates Italian sign language in real-time.
