Primary School Hackathon

For the first time, the Phyrtual Innovation Gym will host a programming marathon for primary school children. This pilot experience is part of Project “BYE: Build Your Experience” (May 2016 - May 2017), an initiative by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale financed by Google for Education as part of the Google RISE Awards 2016 Programme, the yearly grant for non-profit organisations, to promote STEM subjects amongst young men and women with less access to the study of technical and scientific subjects.

Today’s, protagonists (May 4) are students in classes 5A and 5B at the Istituto comprensivo Manziana. The classes will be accompanied by teacher Antonella Scialappa.

The young programmers will have to develop a story using Scratch, a challenge they will face with the help of Coaches Valentina Gelsomini and Riccardo D'Aquino. The mini-challenge will last 4 hours from 9 am to 1 pm.
