IIS Guglielmo Marconi in Catania presents a new edition of the Summer School, a crucial part of the Coding Girls Educational Programme, promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and the American Embassy in Italy in collaboration with Microsoft. The object of the project is to overcome gender stereotypes, attract young women to coding and allow them to experiment with the use of new technology, propose new positive models and advance towards new gender equality in the workplace.
The school, directed by Headmaster Ugo Pirrone, is part of the Network of Phyrtual Innovation Gyms.
The summer session will be held by Giorgia Di Tommaso, 26, a coach at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym. The teacher in charge of the programme is Vincenzina Pastore, while two knowledge volunteers from the Grandparents on the Internet Programme will act as tutors.
