Protective Visors

Today, we write about a new solidarity initiative developed by the community of makers at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym Fab Lab for individuals working in high-risk contexts: how to produce protective visors in PVC.

"We have already delivered about 30 protective visors to the hospitals in Tivoli and Frascati and to the Frascati firemen," explains Matteo Viscogliosi, who coordinates the digital manufacturing lab.

"Those who have tried them are enthusiastic,” explains Matteo, "because, unlike other visors on sale, ours are lighter and more comfortable. They are not too tight and can be worn over eyeglasses and masks."

The visor project was developed by Daniele Vigo (21) who also created a tutorial to share his project with other makers.

"Daniele expedited the production process and made the visors lighter than the 3D-printed ones developed by other makes,” adds Matteo.
