Rescue Drone

Gaia, Riccardo, Gianmarco and Giordano, four students at the Istituto Sandro Pertini in Genzano (Rome), participated in the hackathon organised by Project IoT at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym with Team "Sughetto".

Project "Speed for Need," one of the seven selected projects [see news: Seven More Teams], designed a drone to support ambulances in initial first aid activities.

The team described their project as follows:

The “Speed for Need” Drones reach victims faster than ambulances can. The drone includes a mechanical arm with a sensor that can monitor vital parameters (blood pressure, heartbeat, etc.) as well as a cardiac defibrillator. The drone transmits the information to the rescue vehicles on the way.

The challenge amongst students is part of the IoT at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym Project promoted by Cisco.
