Robot World Cup Initiative

The Robot World Cup Initiative begin today in Sydney Australia (July 2-8, 2019). The initiative, first launched in Japan in 1997, has reached its 23rd edition. Three teams selected at  RomeCup 2019 will participate in RoboCup Junior.

 

The following teams are in Sydney to participate in the Soccer Category:

 

  • SPQR 2 - IIS Galileo Galilei (Rome), winner of the Soccer Light Weight Category. The team is accompanied professors-coaches Paolo Torda and Massimiliano Manfré
  • Cardano Robotics - IIS Piazza della Resistenza from Monterotondo (Rome), winner of the Soccer Open League Category. The accompanying professor-coach is Giampaolo Pucci
  • Mega Hertz Elettra Robotics Labs - IIS Lorenzo Cobianchi (Verbania), second placed in the Soccer Open League Category, admitted when an extra slot was provided to Italy. The accompanying professor-coach is Raimondo Sgrò.

 

Today, there will be the inauguration ceremony and the teams will start setting up. The competitions begin tomorrow. The semi-finals will be held on Saturday and the finals on Sunday.
