RomeCup Contests

For the 13th edition of RomeCup, the Fondazione Mondo invites all Italian universities to participate in the creative contests on robotic technology applied to agriculture, rehabilitation and assistance.

The AGROBOTCOBOT and NONNIBOT Contests are open to university students and students on school-work programmes. Students may participate individually or in teams. Teams with both high school and university students will be given preference.

Besides the tree contests launched by the universities of Rome, there is a fourth challenge on Brain Control Interface with a possible collaboration with the Zurich Cybathlon.

The last edition of RomeCup involved 200 students from 11 secondary schools, as well as researchers, professors and university students from the Tor Vergata University of Rome, Sapienza University of Rome and the Rome “Campus Bio-Medico” University.

Project applications should be submitted with a presentation (video or slides) and must include the development of a working prototype and/or software interface. The cost of the final product must be less than 500 euro. The Fondazione Mondo Digitale will provide its Phyrtual Innovation Gym Labs (Fab Lab, Immersive Lab, etc.) to develop and optimise prototypes.

A panel of experts will evaluate the projects and select the finalists who will participate in the final pitch contest at RomeCup 2019. All projects and prototypes will be assessed in terms of:

  • impact
  • low cost
  • efficacy
  • originality
  • interdisciplinary nature
