Last Tuesday, students at the Liceo Artistico in Tivoli (Rome) participated in the second meeting with artist Roberto Fega to discuss the sound art forms and modules they are developing.
The stimuli provided by Roberto drove the students to understand, communicate and share the sounds of their surrounding environment: Tivoli’s green countryside and nature, as well as the trains that come and go with commuters at the local train station. This served as a launchpad for the students’ imagination and creativity, catalysing thoughts and ideas that will be transformed into media art over the coming weeks, under Roberto’s guidance. For the moment, the student installation is tentatively entitled “Environment Sound.” The students are also coordinated by Gaetano Nocerino, Professor of Advertising Graphics.
The workgroup will meet again on Monday, February 15 from 2:30 to 4:30 pm.

Twelve artists are working with students in 12 schools in Naples, Rome and Milan to develop digital works that will be exhibited at the prestigious BNL Media Art Festival (April 13-17, 2016 - Museo nazionale per le arti del XXI secolo) which will feature lectures, installations and conferences with international experts, as well as didactic and educational tracks for students of all ages. The Media Art Festival is an absolute novelty for the Italian artistic panorama, a true, networked laboratory to entice the younger generation to the active, creative and innovative use of technology.
