Three young women from three different Roman schools met for the first time at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym for the final hackathon event of Coding Girls Rome-USA and formed a team to create their first videogame.
 
In the video, Michela from the Pacinotti-Archimede School, who teamed with Giorgia from the Alberti School and Vittoria from the Kennedy School, explains how their game, called Escape, works.
 
 

 

 
As part of the Italian Semester of Presidency of the European Union Council and for European Code Week, the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and the American Embassy in Italy, in collaboration with the US Girls Who Code Association, promoted Coding Girls Rome-USA, an eight-day long event (Oct. 12-19, 2014) fully dedicated to young girls and women in primary and secondary school. The project was also sponsored by Miur, Roma Capitale, Sapienza University Computer Science Department and Microsoft.
 
The final hackathon was held at the Rome Città Educativa Phyrtual Innovation Gym with the participation of 90 young women from schools in Rome.
