Therapeutic Stories

The progress of science has improved the length and quality of the lives of millions of patients with pathologies that were fatal until recently. How important is it to be able to depend on the support of patient associations throughout therapy? Thanks to their contribution, the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and Janssen Italia, the pharmaceutical branch of the Johnson & Johnson Group, have organised meetings for Project Factor J, involving 9000 students in "therapeutic stories" in six therapeutic areas: oncology, haematology, immunology, infectious diseases, pulmonary hypertension and neuroscience. And with the help of experts, operators and volunteers, Factor J has turned some of the young participants into ambassadors driving trust in the progress of science and bringing wellbeing and health back into the educational process.

On Wednesday, April 27, at 11 am, at the Rome Liceo Immanuel Kant, we will present the results of the third thematic research produced by Project Factor J and developed by the University of Siena on changes in the lifestyles of youth connected to opinions concerning science. How influenced are students by scientists, doctors and health personnel?

Some of the associations participating in the project will be present along with representatives of the local institutions, students, and three young ambassadors: Tommaso Cocumelli (IIS Piaget Diaz, Rome), Laura Malaggese and Romina Capi (IIS San Benedetto, Cassino).

Together with Janssen Emiliano Grassi, Product Manager Neuroscience, and Andrea Casati, Car-T Lead, we will discover what happens in the “backstage” of science and medicine.

The day will be opened by Elisabetta Durantini, Headmistress of the Liceo “I. Kant” in Rome and Alessio D’Amato, Health and Socio-sanitary Integration Councillor for the Regione Lazio (invited to participate). Other participants include Loretta Mameli, Patient Engagement Lead and Pipeline Execution Lead Italy, Janssen Italia; Mirta Michilli, Director General, Fondazione Mondo Digitale; Giorgio Minotti, Deputy Rector for Education, Campus Bio- Medico University of Rome (invited to participate); Maria Pia Ruggieri, Director of the First Aid and Emergency Medicine Unit, Azienda Ospedaliera San Giovanni Addolorata in Rome, and Directive Council of SalutEquità; Daniela Mondatore, Director of Participation and Civic Activism Area, CittadinanzAttiva; Luisa Clausi Schettini, Director, Associazione Italiana contro Leucemie, linfomi e mieloma (AIL) Roma; Felicia Giagnotti, Presidente Fondazione Progetto Itaca Onlus. Leonardo Radicchi, President of the Italian Pulmonary Hypertension Association (AIPI) will moderate the event.
