We Need Courage

Alice is a student at Mediterranea University in Reggio Calabria and a volunteer at the Ashiafatima Association, a non-profit organisation that promotes the development of sustainable communities in Africa. In Cameroonian, "Ashia" means “courage” - and this is the state of mind with which Alice faces new challenges.

This year, Alice will be a digital ambassador for Project Smart for Europe.

“Sharing our choices and actions has become part of our daily lives. Using social networks to share experiences and acquired knowledge means allowing our followers and relations to discover new realities. I’d speak about what I have learned on all my social networks to promote the objectives of my association.”

With Project Smart for Europe, the Fondazione Mondo Digitale holds educational digital sessions to support the communication and information activities of  the Reggio Calabria Europe Direct Centre as part of Programme Aper Europe, currently in its fourth edition.

In particular, the project aims to train 50 digital ambassadors for Europe Direct in Reggio Calabria. The ambassadors will be of all ages and possess a good knowledge of technology to drive the multiplier effect of social learning.

By the end of the training session, each ambassador will be able to train (either proximately or remotely) at least 10 other peers as “digital facilitators.”
