This reflection takes shape through the modular works of the artist Loris Cecchini, chosen to accompany “Knowledge that connects”, the programme marking the 25th anniversary of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale. Connection, cooperation, ramification and propagation thus become four ways of interpreting social change as well: each element acquires meaning in relation to the others and can generate new configurations.
It is a perspective that broadens the narrative of evaluation. Alongside the directly observable effects of an intervention, there are trust, learning, new connections and capacities for action that develop over time and progressively transform the ecosystem.
“After twenty-five years of working on social innovation, I continue to think of impact in these terms: as a transformation of the relationships and possibilities that an ecosystem makes available to people,” writes Alfonso Molina.
