Today, Friday 30 May, the Botanical Gardens in Rome will come alive with the voices, ideas and creativity of the students taking part in the final event of GIFT – Giovani, Impegno, Futuro e Territorio (Youth, Commitment, Future and Territory), a project promoted by Save the Children Italia, in collaboration with Educazione ai Diritti dell'Infanzia e dell'Adolescenza (Education on the Rights of Children and Adolescents), Alleanza italiana per lo sviluppo sostenibile (Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development) (Asvis) and Fondazione Mondo Digitale (Mondo Digitale Foundation).
From 9.30 a.m. to 4 p.m., the girls and boys of the “Emilio Sereni” Agricultural Institute, the Ripetta Art School, the Leonardo Da Vinci IIS and the “Socrate” Classical High School will share with the public the results of a two-year journey of reflection, civic engagement and collaborative planning on the major social and environmental issues of our time.
During the morning, the schools will offer interactive workshops, creative installations and multimedia activities dedicated to the Agenda 2030 Goals, including quality education, gender equality, the fight against inequality, sustainable cities, climate, biodiversity and social justice.
In the afternoon, the Liceo Artistico Ripetta art school is organising a “creative auction” featuring works created by the students as a symbolic form of restitution and public activation. At the same time, a group of young people will take part in an educational Escape Room organised by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and inspired by Goal 8 – Decent work and economic growth: an immersive experience to reflect on the future of work in a participatory and engaging way.
With GIFT, the school confirms its role as a space for growth, protagonism and transformation to build a more just and sustainable future together.
