We Lost the Sea is a large environmental installation that showcases the breath of the Earth through its fundamental elements: sea, light and atmosphere. The installation by Federica Di Carlo (Rome, 1984) raises awareness on the Earth’s dramatic climactic situation

Valentino Catricalà, Artistic Director of the Media Art Festival, explains why the Fondazione Mondo Digitale decided to promote this work by a young artist and the impact of We Lost the Sea on the audience.

The installation, which will be hosted until September 15 by the Arsenale della Marina Regia in Palermo, is curated by Simona Brunetti, promoted by the Regione Sicilia Sea Council (Soprintendenza del Mare) and the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, and produced by Snaporazverein with the patronage of Palermo Italian Cultural Capital 2018.
